Many people love to go fishing, instead of playing tennis or golf. Others make it their primary sport activity together with their families and friends to relieve boredom and stress. Surveys say that more than 50 million Americans love to go fishing and make it their lifestyle option instead of other sports.
In Alabama, fishing represents a substantial impact on the state economy. Hundreds of millions of dollars are represented and about 20,000 people list fishing as their source of livelihood. However, most people consider it as a form of relaxation and a family activity. In general, it is a lifestyle option.
In the book titled “The Incomplete Psychology of Everyday Fishing;” psychologist Paul G. Quinnett dedicated an entire chapter about fishing as a source to relieve stress. In the chapter, “Ethics of Fishing” he points out that a person must appreciate and enjoy the benefits of nature. He also highlighted that fishing correct is a way for an individual to become more disciplined in his lifestyle.
“Family Life First,” an organization dedicated to introducing how to spend useful family time to parents for their children, have factual data that in the past 20 years, 25 percent of a child’s playing time has decreased. Outdoor activities, where most children spend their playing time, have also declined by 50 percent. Since 1969 to 1996, 22 percent of family time activities have lessened proven by the study of the White House Council of Economic Advisers.
Any fruitful time to interact with your children is time worth investing. Fishing is a way to connect. The quality time you get is really worth the effort. The experience you get by catching fish is what makes it wonderful to enjoy and that is the important part of fishing. There are 23 public fishing lakes having plenty of fish waiting to be caught. All children can experience the excitement and adventure of fishing. You will always remember the very first time you caught a fish, and the parent who showed you how to catch it. You gain enjoyable and learning experiences from fishing that makes it a great family activity.
Alabama, for example, promotes its lakes and open banks as places best for fishing. You do not even need a boat to catch fish. There are also stores where you can find what you need for fishing. You may bring your family with you and the time of being together and enjoying the fun of fishing is the best family activity you could have.

Wow, I am glad that the holidays are over. The pic is representative of my eating habits for about the last 3 weeks. Alas the gluteny has now come to an end, I am back to my own homestead and away from the homeland where a cup of tea is ALWAYS accompanied with a couple biscuits, oat cakes, squares and cookies. I should note that the old ladies are the worst, you can’t say no and if you try they force feed you.
But now, I am not too worse for wear about 5 lbs heavier and a little softer but I think that I did better than most years. Tomorrow though is the beginning of another year, the first day is always a write-off, and I am going to start it right. My clock is set, the coffee pot is set and I am going to be off to the gym before I go to work. I have even set up a meal plan that will get me through the week without too much work.
I hope to have more time now that the holiday season is officially over, I have a few great ideas for the site and just need the time to make them happen.
Cheers and Happy New Year

I have been thinking lately that there is no beverage that a Hoser likes more than beer. And even though this site is dedicated to helping Hosers and non-hosers alike to live a better, fuller, healthier life, beer is just too important.
Beer, like wine and other liqueur, when drank in moderation have even showed to help prevent heart disease. But in binging amounts there could be nothing worse for the heart, not to mention the liver.
However not all beer is made equal, both in the health aspect, or the taste. In the next little while I am going to be trying out different kinds and will be trying to write some reviews. I may get a couple of my “beer nerd” friends to help out.

Yipee, I am now going to be sure to go to the bar after the gym, rather than the juice bar.
According to a recent study, as reported by the Telegraph beer helps with re-hydration after strenuous exercise. In the Mens Health Blog, they reported that the study gave half of the subjects all of the water they wanted after strenous excercise and the other half had a pint of beer and THEN all of the water that they wanted.
It was showed that the people that had the beer had slightly better re-hydration than those who just simply had water.
This is great for those that are beer lovers, but remember not to go over-board, the reason that you are going to the gym or doing that strenuous exercise is to lose those extra calories, and beer as everyone knows is full of empty calories.
So what do you think? Now that you know that having a beer may help you to re-hydrate are you going to change your after gym meal/refreshment? Myself I am an average guy who goes to the gym to lose those extra pounds that I have gained sitting at my desk all day. Beer is something that I like to enjoy, however I am not up for drinking down all of those extra calories after working hard on the rower. This finding may be better for the NASCAR drivers or professional sports players who in the course of a game or race loose up to 10lbs in sweat and really need to rehydrate fast.

1. Over 45000 people in North America die from the simple flu every year. The majority are overthe age of 65.
2. Loss of productivity. When the cost of a shot is so insignificant compared from someone being sick for even one day it is a no brainer. BUt I suppose that the average worker doesn’t care, but I bet there boss does and talk about bownie points when you drop that you had your flu shot the night before :wink:
3. Being sick sucks. THink about it, would you rather be healthy or laying on the couch for a week puking in a bucket?
4. Your hockey team needs you (or poker night or frisbee or reading group)
5. And I suppose the best reason would have to be because Jennifer Garner said so
But seriously now, those are some great reasons but there are some people that absolutley need to get the shot, anyone over 50 or between 6 years and 6 months old. Those are the to biggest groups who are most at risk. Remember reason 1? If you are over 50 be sure to get out there and get a shot. Also if you have a depressed immune system it is critcal that you get protected.
So now I bet you are thinking that everyone should get the shot, well there are some people that are exempnt. Those include babies younger than 6 months, and anyone that is allergic to eggs, or if you have ever had a reaction to the vaccine in the past.
One of the questions that some people ask is what does it cost? Well if you live in Canada it costs NOTHING, your health care program covers it.
Are you still wondering if it is a good idea? Skeptical? Check out this site for some good information on the facts and some common misconceptions.
So have you gone yet? GO!!!

Cruise Europe
If you are looking for a luxurious way to see the continent of Europe, then you should definitely consider a cruise. While cruises are extremely popular in America, they are pretty popular as well in certain areas of Europe, here are some tips.
If you are thinking about seeing Italy or Greece, one of the best ways to see these beautiful countries is with a luxury cruise. There are many tour operators that have access to these majestic ships that will take you from one fantastic port to another. For instance, you can literally see a half dozen great locations in Italy and Greece. Some cruises even go up and down the Adriatic Sea, so you can see the beautiful Dalmatian coastline in Croatia.
If you are more interested in London, Ireland and Norway, there are plenty of cruises that visit beautiful Nordic lands and make stops at many of the Northern European countries. You can also take a cruise that visits Spain, Portugal and the south of France, and sometimes even North Africa. Trans Atlantic cruises are also popular; they usually leave from either New York or Florida and arrive in Europe, or leave from Europe and arrive in New York or Miami. If you are looking for exotic locations, cruises can surely deliver them.

One of the great joys in life is to travel and see the world. For many people that usually includes their family and friends, but for some people, one of the best ways to travel is alone.
Traveling alone is not for everyone and most people might see it as risky behavior, but for those that want to see the world on their own terms, it can’t be beat.
Traveling alone is a great way to see the things that you want to see. You don’t have to plan ahead with others and worry about how others feel. You can easily choose your path. Traveling alone is also very affordable; you can easily find hostels that will offer you just one bed for less than $20 per night. You can eat in supermarkets or get some fast food, there is no need to spend lavishly on food with others or entertainment when you don’t feel in the mood.
When traveling alone, you are usually never alone, there are so many people that you come into contact with and that you meet everyday. Traveling alone is really about meeting people and doing the things you want to do anyway. For people that want to experience the world, you should consider traveling alone.
